ProLogis to Develop Distribution Center in Spain for ARC International

- International Tableware Distributor Will Occupy 516,000 Square Feet in Zaragoza -

- New Warehouse Facility Will Feature Environmentally Advanced Design -

DENVER, May 3 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- ProLogis (NYSE: PLD), the world's largest owner, manager and developer of distribution facilities, announced today that it will develop a large distribution center in northeast Spain for a subsidiary of ARC International, the world's largest supplier of high-quality tableware.

The new distribution center, totaling 516,000 square feet (48,000 square meters), will be located in the city of Zaragoza, a growing distribution hub located halfway between Madrid and Barcelona along the A-2 highway, Spain's primary east-west artery. ARC International will use the facility to distribute a wide range of its products in the categories of drinkware, dinnerware, cookware, flatware and giftware, to more than 10,000 customers throughout Spain and Portugal. ProLogis expects to begin construction on the distribution center in June of 2007.

Gustavo Cardozo, vice president of project management for ProLogis in Spain, added that the distribution center will be constructed using a variety of sustainable design techniques to reduce its impact on the environment. They will include: roof-mounted solar panels that generate electricity, skylights and clearstory windows that increase interior daylight; Laminated-Wood roof structure frame, energy efficient lighting systems; a solar-powered water heater; low-maintenance landscaping, green transport park and a rainwater retention basin. "Upon completion, ARC International's distribution center will be one of the most environmentally advanced industrial facilities in the country," Cardozo said.
