ProLogis Announces Build-to-Suit Agreement With Bay Valley Foods Near Chicago

- New Development Will Comprise 600,000 Square Feet of Sustainable Distribution Space -

DENVER, June 17 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- ProLogis (NYSE: PLD), the world's largest owner, manager and developer of distribution facilities, announced today that it has recently signed a new build-to-suit agreement with Bay Valley Foods, a leading provider of private label food products.

ProLogis will develop a 600,000-square-foot distribution center for the company at ProLogis Park Rochelle in Rochelle, Illinois, approximately 75 miles west of Chicago. Bay Valley Foods will use the building primarily as a warehouse and distribution center for a wide assortment of the company's products. In addition, the facility will be used for packaging and labeling canned soup products. Construction is expected to begin mid-summer.

The new distribution center will be built according to guidelines established by the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) for LEED Certification, the national standard for environmentally responsible construction. It will incorporate a number of sustainable design and construction techniques including extensive use of recycled and locally sourced construction materials and the installation of an energy-efficient fluorescent lighting system.

ProLogis Park Rochelle is a 300-acre business park located at the intersection of Interstate 88 and Interstate 39. The Bay Valley Foods facility will be the second building at the park. At full build out, the park will comprise approximately four million square feet and 10 distribution facilities. Other customers at ProLogis Park Rochelle include Del Monte and Clark Steel.
