ProLogis Leases 272,000 Square Feet in Reno
- Company Signs Lease Agreements with Husqvarna Professional Products and Jacobson Companies, Inc. -
RENO, Nev., Dec. 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- ProLogis (NYSE: PLD), a leading global provider of distribution facilities, announced today it has signed lease agreements for distribution space totaling 272,000 square feet in shell-development facilities in Reno, Nevada.
"Our recent lease activity in Reno underlines the city's attractiveness as a distribution hub and improves our overall leased percentage in the market to approximately 94 percent," said Brandon J. Page, vice president and market officer for ProLogis. "Reno offers companies solid transportation options for distribution across the entire western United States, due to its proximity to Interstate 80, one of the nation's most heavily traveled east-west trucking routes."
Husqvarna Professional Products Inc, part of the worldwide Husqvarna group of companies, which is the world's largest producer of lawn mowers, chainsaws and portable gas-powered garden equipment, has leased 90,000 square feet of previously un-leased space from ProLogis at Silver Lake Business Park. The company will use the facility to distribute its products to customers throughout the West Coast. This is ProLogis' first lease agreement with Husqvarna.
In addition, ProLogis has grown its relationship in Reno with Jacobson Companies, Inc., an Iowa-based third-party logistics provider. The company is relocating and expanding with ProLogis into 182,000 square feet of shell-development space at Tahoe-Reno Industrial Center, Building 1.
"Jacobson is a valued customer and a well-respected, national third-party logistics provider. We now lease approximately 529,000 square feet to the company throughout the United States," added Page.
ProLogis is the largest provider of industrial space in Reno/Sparks with a platform of more than 105 facilities and 16.4 million square feet. Additional ProLogis customers in the Reno/Sparks market include Barnes & Noble, Inc., Honeywell, UPS Logistics, Sherwin-Williams and AT&T Communications.
