ProLogis Renewable Energy Announces New Rooftop Solar Project in Southern California Totaling 11.1 MW

-- New Project Increases ProLogis' Renewable Energy Portfolio to 24.6 MW Globally --

LOS ANGELES, May 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- ProLogis (NYSE: PLD), a leading global provider of distribution facilities, announced today a second rooftop solar project in Southern California, totaling 11.1 megawatts (MW).

ProLogis has signed a master agreement with Southern California Edison (SCE), the largest electric utility in California, to provide approximately 100MW of generated power to the utility through its rooftop solar program. Today's announcement is for the first phase of the master agreement that covers 2.5 million square feet of roof space across five buildings. SCE will own and operate the system. All generated power will feed directly into the utility's electrical system to serve its customers. As site host of the project, ProLogis will receive roof rental income and construction management fees. Construction is expected to commence this summer.

"Our partnership with SCE works well for both parties – we have flat, available roof space and local construction management expertise in place to support the growth of SCE's renewable energy program," said Drew Torbin, vice president of renewable energy for ProLogis. "With approximately 45 million square feet in SCE's service area, this installation is one part of a larger, multi-phase project."

This is the second rooftop solar project between the two companies, bringing ProLogis' total partnership with SCE to 13.5 MW of solar energy.

"Our first installation in this large solar power project was a ProLogis building in Fontana, Calif. that now provides two million watts of clean energy to our grid," said SCE President John Fielder. "We are pleased to expand this relationship with a company that shares our vision for converting otherwise unused urban rooftop real estate into solar power stations."

ProLogis now has solar projects installed or under construction on 32 buildings throughout France, Germany, Japan, Spain and the United States. The installations cover more than 10.6 million square feet (984,800 square meters) of roof space and total 24.6 MW.

The ProLogis Renewable Energy group was formed in 2009 to procure new business, manage installations and provide development services for renewable energy projects globally. ProLogis has more than 450 million square feet (42 million square meters) of roof space worldwide available for solar photovoltaic installations.
