ProLogis Leases 111,000 Square Feet in Japan
- One Year After Construction Completion, ProLogis Parc Zama I is Now Fully Leased -
TOKYO, June 29 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- ProLogis (NYSE: PLD), a leading global provider of distribution facilities, announced today it signed a new, second-quarter lease agreement in Japan with Kanto Transport Co., Ltd., a transportation and third-party logistics provider.
Kanto Transport will occupy 111,000 square feet (10,300 square meters) at ProLogis Parc Zama I, a 1.2-million-square-foot (113,300-square-meter) distribution facility located in the city of Zama, a central logistics hub in Japan's Kanagawa Prefecture.
"We are very pleased to announce that ProLogis Parc Zama I is 100 percent leased," said Mike Yamada, president of Japan for ProLogis. "We completed construction on the facility in June 2009, and have received great interest from our customers in both the modern features of the building as well as its prime location with convenient access to the greater Tokyo and greater Nagoya areas."
ProLogis Parc Zama I is located 25 miles from downtown Tokyo along Route 246, a major north-south highway, and the Tomei Expressway, a high-speed motorway that connects to Tokyo, Nagoya and Osaka. The park also is near a commuter train station, which provides access to the area's well-qualified workforce. The distribution facility has many energy-efficient systems – including a one-megawatt photovoltaic array and a state-of-the-art seismic isolation structure.
