Prologis, L.P. to Establish $1.0 Billion Unsecured Senior Term Loan Facility and Cancel Bridge Loan Commitment
SAN FRANCISCO, May 14, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Prologis, Inc. (NYSE: PLD), the global leader in industrial real estate, today announced it has received commitments for a $1.0 billion unsecured senior term loan facility.
The facility will mature in May 2017, assuming the exercise of a one-year extension at Prologis' option. As of May 14, 2015, the weighted average interest rate would be 1.2%, based on LIBOR plus 100 basis points at the company's current credit rating. The facility is anticipated to close at the end of May and is subject to customary closing conditions. In connection with closing the term facility, Prologis will cancel the commitments to fund its previously announced bridge loan.
The term facility will be the company's second significant financing, with a cumulative principal amount of approximately $1.8 billion, since its April 2015 announcement of its definitive agreement to acquire the assets of KTR Capital Partners and its affiliates.
"We continue to opportunistically tap the capital markets at favorable pricing given the strength of our balance sheet and lender relationships," said Tom Olinger, chief financial officer, Prologis. "This transaction is the second step in further fortifying our liquidity and providing greater optionality for funding our share of the pending acquisition of assets from KTR."
Prologis, Inc., is the global leader in industrial real estate. As of March 31, 2015, Prologis owned or had investments in, on a wholly owned basis or through co-investment ventures, properties and development projects expected to total approximately 594 million square feet (55 million square meters) in 21 countries. The company leases modern distribution facilities to more than 4,700 customers, including third-party logistics providers, transportation companies, retailers and manufacturers.
