ROTTERDAM, Netherlands, Oct. 31 -- ProLogis (NYSE: PLD), a leading global provider of integrated distribution facilities and services, has agreed to lease ProLogis Distribution Center III (91,490 s.f./8,500 m2) in the Eemhaven Distripark to NCR Corporation, a global market leader in data warehousing, financial, retail and telecommunications solutions.
NCR is a recognized world leader in data warehousing solutions, ATMs, point-of-sale systems, high performance scanners, and support services for retail, financial, telecommunications, airline and insurance markets.
The facility is one of two NCR Solution Delivery Centers (SDCs) in Europe and will support the European distribution of NCR's retail, data warehousing and networking solutions. NCR chose the Eemhaven Distripark as their preferred location because of its excellent links by road, water and air to NCR's European customers. In addition, ProLogis' lease terms and construction process provided NCR with a flexible real estate solution.
Robin von Weiler, managing director of ProLogis: 'This lease is our first with NCR. Our facilities in the Eemhaven Distripark are now at 100% occupation and we are leasing a total of 410,000 s.f. (38,000 m2.). Our strategy is to develop logistic facilities at the three Distriparks in Rotterdam; Maasvlakte, Botlek and Eemhaven in order to support growth in the port. At the moment, we have more than 1,163,000 s.f. (108,000 m2) either under development or leased to international logistics businesses in the port.'
